It has an extremely large retention rate for the heat in your home through the winter and prevents heat gain in summer. It gives free winter warmth for your house. As much as 95% of your energy expense is for cooling and heating system combined is for heating, this glass is significantly more cost effective than any glass without a high SHGC.

LOE 366 (Cardinal) LOE 366 – Is recommended when heating costs outweigh heating prices on your energy use, or where summertime discomfort from heat build-up ought to be a significant concern. This is the best glass for most applications in a southern climate. It has a rather high reflection rate of the radiant outside heat to prevent heat gain in summer and in winter it still retains radiant as soon as you turn on your furnace!
